These policies protect both parties and ensure every client receives the focused, high-quality experience they are investing in.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING :
All purchases from Retrodern are subject to the following terms. By proceeding with payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these policies in full.

1. Purchases & Payments

  • Payment Terms: Full payment is required on all ready-to-buy items at the time of purchase.
  • No Holds: Items will not be held without full payment. Verbal or written interest does not reserve a piece; payment is required to secure it.
  • Accepted Payment Methods: Zelle, Stripe (credit/debit), and Exact Cash.

2. Custom Work & Commissions

  • Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required immediately upon booking confirmation to secure your spot.
  • Consultation Fee: A $50 fee applies to in-person consultations. If you move forward with the project, this fee will be applied toward your final balance.
  • Final Balance: Final payment is due immediately upon completion notification and must be cleared before delivery, shipping, or pickup is scheduled.
  • Rescheduling Fee: A $100 fee applies if a booked custom window is changed after confirmation.

3. Pickup & Storage

  • Pickup Timeline: Pickup is required within 1 week (7 calendar days) of completion notification.
  • Scheduling: A 48-hour advance notice is required for all scheduled pickups. We cannot accommodate walk-ins.
  • Storage Fees: If an item is not picked up within 7 days, a $75 per week storage fee will begin accumulating on Day 8.
  • Abandoned Property: Items unclaimed after 3 months will be considered abandoned and will be resold. No refunds will be issued for abandoned pieces.

4. Shipping & Nationwide Delivery

  • Booking & Logistics: We offer nationwide shipping via uShip, utilizing independent, feedback-rated carriers who specialize in furniture transport. Shipping is coordinated as a convenience to the buyer.
  • Shipping Costs: All shipping fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. A shipping quote must be requested and approved before checking out, or billed separately before the item leaves our studio.
  • Service Level (Blanket-Wrap): Unless crating is explicitly requested and paid for, all uShip shipments are booked as Blanket-Wrap / White Glove service. The carrier will wrap the piece in moving blankets and secure it inside their vehicle for transit.
  • Transit Timelines: Because uShip operates on independent carrier schedules, delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees. We are not responsible for transit delays caused by carrier routing, weather, or mechanical issues.

Transit Damage & Liability Disclaimer

  • Studio Handoff: Retrodern’s liability ends the moment the furniture is loaded onto the carrier’s vehicle. We take extensive high-resolution photos and videos of every piece immediately prior to loading to document its pristine condition.
  • The Buyer's Responsibility upon Arrival (CRITICAL):Inspect Before Signing: You must thoroughly inspect the furniture before signing the carrier’s Bill of Lading (BOL) or electronic release.Note Damages Immediately: If there is any damage, you must write a detailed description of the damage directly on the BOL before the driver leaves. Signing a clean BOL legally confirms you received the item in perfect condition, which voids future cargo claims.Take Photos: Photograph any damage to the piece and the carrier's vehicle immediately.
  • Shipping Protection/Insurance: Standard carrier liability is very limited. We highly recommend purchasing the uShip Protection Plan at checkout for full-value peace of mind. Retrodern is not responsible for filing transit damage claims, but we will gladly provide your original purchase invoice and pre-shipping photos to assist you in filing a claim with uShip or the carrier.

5. Refund & Return Policy (Final Sale)

  • All Sales Are Final: We do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations, and we do not issue refunds under any circumstances.
  • Vintage & Restored Condition: Our pieces are vintage and expertly restored. Due to their history, minor character marks and inherent vintage imperfections may be present and are not considered defects or grounds for a return.
